Do We Have To Solve The World’s Problems?

Well, yes we do.

There is something we each get to do in solving the world’s problems.

It is not by worrying about all the things we see happening all around us that we get to solve the world’s problems.

One key in the sentence above is the word “happening”.

“Happening” is a double-edge sword kind of word.

If we are not careful, happening becomes “happening to me”.

Do not allow that to happen.  Pun intended.

Happening to me is a place of victimhood, helplessness and disempowerment.

Happening to me is about giving up control.

Giving up control is never a good thing.

Do not allow what is happening in the world to cause you to forget the power you have in your own personal world.

This is not about not caring about others.

The only way you can impact others in a useful way is to maintain control over the things going on in your own personal world.

Often what you see going on in the world around you is a reflection, actually an expression, of what is really going on in your own personal world.

Do you see chaos, confusion, hard times, lack, scarcity and fear?

Do you see calm, balance, hope, enough and Blessings?

My 8th grade teacher wrote in my keepsake book.

When others around you are losing their head, keep yours.

I realized the wisdom of these words at the time but quickly dismissed the profundity as soon as I left that moment in my life.

Now is the first time this advice has come back into my consciousness.

This simply says, when all hell is breaking loose, don’t get caught up in the stuff you have no control over.

This is not about being insensitive.

This is also not about burying your head in the sand.

This is about reminding yourself of your personal power to navigate, get through, and actually prosper in what many consider to be trying times.

Trying times have the potential to be powerful times.

What are you made of?

Life is always changing in ways you often can’t even imagine.

If you get swept away in the currents of change, your foundation had to be shaky to begin with.

This indicates to me that you put more faith in things outside of yourself, which you cannot control, than you have in your own abilities.

When you spend more time looking everywhere outside of yourself for answers to what is going on in your life, you put all of your power in everyone else’s hands.

Who can know what you need, or are missing, or forgot you already have, better than you?

Who knows what you need to change in your life but you?

The only thing that comes from living your life from the outside in, depending on outside influences to make your life right, is uncertainty, doubt, worry and a whole lot of fear.

Who needeth any of that?

The more meaningful route is to sit with yourself and ask the questions that matter, and that make a difference.

If finances are an issue, know it is never too late to make some changes.

Now is always the time to make all the changes.

It may seem impossible to you that there are things you can, should, could and actually need to do that will make the difference in your life.

I’ve put this out here before, but,

What the fuck do you want in your life?

What are you willing to do about it?

Yes.

Even today.

Especially today!

When the world around you is topsy, turvy, upside down, all kind of crazy, it makes sense to look inside yourself and get to know what the shit is in your life that is making you feel, helpless, worried, doubtful and just plain scared.

You might want to sit down with someone you trust, and talk through what’s on your mind.

You may want to talk with a counselor, or someone who does not know you, if you are feeling like you will be judged for anything going on in your life.

Major upheavals happen for us.  Not to us.

You may have heard the term wake up call.

It is time to wake the fuck up!

The big bang theory says the world was created out of an explosion.

Explode Into Your New Improved World!

Maybe.

Maybe not

But if we run with that, are these not explosive times in a sense?

Whatever is happening now seems to me to be an opportunity to create a whole new world.

Will you be challenged?

Yes.

Will it take effort?

Yes.

Will you want to give up?

You can never give up on yourself!

Will you not know what you are doing?

Yes.

So what!

Do it any way.

You can never get your life wrong.  Just do something!

Bottom line is you have to do some thing.

Upheavals are a wake up call.

The world is not ending today or tomorrow.

The world as you have known it, and how you have been living it, may very well be ending now.

This is a good thing if you have not been living any where near your best life.

This time is a gift to you to let go of the bullshit stories you have been telling yourself which have not served you.

It is time to come up with a new story about who you are, and how you are, and time to create a world you would rather have in your life.

There is a tomorrow.

What do you want your tomorrow to look like?

Regardless of anything happening in the world outside, tend to your own personal world.

Lift yourself up out of the ashes.

The thing is, when you feel like you have no options, is when you have the most options.

You’ve done all the things that got you here to no options, hopelessness, worry, doubt and fear.

Stop doing those things!

Stop doing what you may have thought was working for you.

Remember. What you have been doing up to this point brought you to no options, hopelessness, worry, doubt and fear.

Is this really where you want to be?

You are.  We all are, so much more than this.

It all really comes down to making a choice.

Do I continue doing what I have always done?

Or, do I now choose to do something else?

Or, do I now choose to do something else?

Make a choice.

Choose no options, hopelessness, worry, doubt and fear.

Or, choose knowing your have options.

Everything we do affects the world we live in.

Solve the world’s problems by solving your own.

Choose you!

Now!

Let’s have a conversation.

Ask me questions.

Tell me what is happening in the world today showing you?

Follow The Plan, But Be Flexible!

What happens when you don’t know what to do?

Don’t get me wrong.

We always know what to do.

We may not know what to do in the moment because there are always so many things to do.

All at once.

For the driven, the to do list is a never ending mountain to climb.

Allow Flexibility In The To Do!

How do we get a handle on all of the stuff?

I find that my life craves structure.

Nothing rigid.  Just reminders so not much falls in the cracks with no chance to see the light until the next time I remember it.

Scheduling in my To Do keeps me on track.

What happens when what you have scheduled gets derailed by something else?

It is all okay.

Example to illustrate.

The other day while sitting in a parking lot having just completed a planned action, just before moving on to the follow up planned action and appointment, I got a call from a friend who lives in the county I was heading to.

She wanted to get together.  I thought “why not”.  She had called at the perfect time just as I was getting ready to head in her direction.

I had a brief thought that it probably wasn’t going to happen because this friend does not have the best relationship with her GPS.

Her Guidance System.  (More on our true guidance system later).

Actually, I see this being all about following our own guidance system which never leads you astray, nor does it allow you to go off course when followed.

So we agreed on where we would meet.

I got to my destination, did what I needed to do, and left.

I drove to the meeting location, reached out to my friend, and settled in to wait for her.

Her estimated arrival time was 25 minutes.

Thirty minutes passed.  An hour passed.  I did not want to distract her because I knew she was driving.  But I had to call to get an idea of when she would be arriving.

She said her GPS had her driving around in circles.

We confirmed the address and she resumed her traveling.

I watched a woman meticulously mowing her lawn.

I watched a few YouTube videos on something I was interested in and generally enjoyed having a moment to appreciate the beautiful, clear, not too hot, breezy, sunny day.

Another hour passed and I called her again.

She was having the hardest time trying to find her way to our meeting place.

I did not have any more time left to wait.

I wasn’t mad.

Things, for me, were just as they needed to be.

But, I had run out of time for this previously unplanned interlude and I needed to push on.

She tried to make our meeting happen.

I made myself available but we both knew it wasn’t happening at that point.

We both tried.

We left it at trying again another time.

This for me is a lesson about being in alignment with our personal GPS system.

Our personal GPS system is always guiding us to our desired destination.

We are all guided and directed along our life path by our own personal Inner Guidance GPS System.

Sometimes we are not in alignment with our Inner Guidance System and, try as we might, we just can’t seem to follow the path laid out for us.

We get off track, turned around, and feel like we are going in circles.

As in this case, we turn back onto the same street time and time again, not understanding why we just can’t seem to get to where we are trying to go.

In the moment, we are frustrated because our directions are not clear to us, and we are at a loss about what to do.

So.

Mission aborted.

We had an intention.

We set out on our path.

We’re moving along, excited about where we are going.

Suddenly, it seems like we are just lost.

No forward movement.

We stop and ask for outside guidance to no avail.

We realize we will not be reaching our destination on this day.

We give up, give in to our current situation, and abort our mission.

We go back to start not feeling good about not having reached our destination.

It is okay.

There is always tomorrow.

The timing just was not right.

On the other hand, I too was following my on personal GPS system.

I felt fine.

I had an unplanned opportunity to sit comfortably, relaxed, enjoying the space I was in, focused on the moment

I could have felt like i had wasted two hours of my time considering all of the things I knew I could have been doing with the time.

I felt and understood that my GPS is always guiding me along my path and knows exactly what I am needing in every moment.

I needed this moment to myself, alone, not having any thing to do except sit, be still and be thankful.

Bottom line.

We are always exactly where we are supposed to be in every given moment.

It is okay to give up iron-willed, tight-fisted control and just let ourselves be guided to what is the thing we are really needing in our lives in the moment.

No worries.

We will always get to our desired destination.

And, we will always be guided to that thing we are needing right now, even when we do not start out knowing this is the thing we needed right now.

Lovingly guided, flow-based living makes life easy.

Look for the Blessing in the unplanned detour along your path.

We are never derailed.

We just have to take the path right in front of us because it is leading us to the place we belong in that moment, and it is all good.

I personally have given up struggling and fighting to make all the stuff happen in my life.

I am open to and allowing myself to be divinely guided along my path.

I’m talking about Letting Go And Letting God.

And so it is.

And it feels so good.

Heart.  Based. Sharing.

Peace. Love. Blessings.

Overcoming One Of My Biggest Fears!

What is the world coming to when you have to stick your own self with a needle to do your own health assessment?

This question is from someone who, as a child, had to be hog-tied and held down to get vaccinated and to have blood drawn for her physical exams.

I’ve had a life-long fear/hatred of needle sticks.

It’s justifiable.

Two years ago, at a real health assessment done in a doctor’s office, as it should be, the needle stick was almost painless.

For me!

I told the phlebotomist that she was good because I almost did not feel anything.

Which had never happened before in my whole lifetime!

She told me the needles are so fine now that there is hardly any pain involved any more in needle sticks.

I had the same experience during my annual blood work at my doctor’s office last year.

I hardly felt it!

That phlebotomist said pretty much the same thing about how the technology has grown causing the needles to be finer and sharper.

I’m all happy about this evolution in something that has caused me a life-time of dread.

I can remember myself saying the only thing I am afraid of is mice and dentists.  Actually all rodents are rats to me.  Forget that mice crap.  I am only now realizing needle sticks should have also been on this list.

My kryptonite.  Rodents  Dentist.  And needle sticks.

Want to subdue me?

There you have it.  The three thing that would bring me to my knees quickly.

Those things would have worked.

Not any more!

I had to learn how to be responsible about the needle sticks during my first pregnancy.

It seems like drawing blood was what all pre-natal visits were about.

And, there were a lot of pre-natal visits.

I figured out how to almost slide out of the chair just about hitting the floor BUT keeping my arm still while I was being stuck.

I would warn the lab tech that I would probably jump out of the chair but I had the good sense to tell them although my body would be doing some things, they were not to pull the needle out.  Hit it and be done!

I may be the biggest woos they would ever see, but, don’t play with me!

The first thing they would say is, don’t look.

What the???

Don’t look???

You’re about to invasively stick a metal object into my arm and you expect me to look away?

Something is wrong with that thought process.

I can’t not look!

It probably has to do with the idea of giving up complete control, which I am not built for.

I will watch you through the whole process.  And guide you if I have to!

When I see you about to withdraw the needle after a perfectly good stick because I flinched (hell, I damn near convulsed) but my arm is still available to you, I will tell you straight up “do not pull the needle out”.   “Do what you got to do”.  “My arm is still here”.

Overcoming Fear!

The price I have to pay for a small amount of control.  Or, to simply get though having my blood drawn.

That self assessment kit sat on my table for almost a week until I could pull myself together enough to do it.

I was not happy about it, but I did not have any other choice.

As it turned, out I had to stick myself twice.

My blood was so thick that after wiping away the first drop, I could only get one more drop to come out.

This left me with only one other option.

I had to stick myself again!

I prepared another finger and did the damn thing a second time.

I wiped away the first drop and barely managed to massage maybe two more drops out to get my test done.

My fingers are still sore the next morning.

I’m not happy about this at all.

But I did it.

To be totally honest, I did not stick a needle into myself.  It was a lancet.  Needle.  Lancet.  It all adds up to the same thing to me.

I guess the moral of this story is:

When faced with having to do what seems like an impossible task, remember we have everything it takes to make it happen, and know we always do come through and prevail!

Oh, yes.

I conquered my fear of dentists too.

Dentist visits are no longer the painful ordeal they used to be.

Thank God for evolving technology.

And rodents?

I no longer live in New York so it is a non-issue for me.

See.

LIFE IS ALWAYS WORKING OUT FOR US!

Thank the Lord!

HOW DO YOU START A NEW BEGINNING?

Usually by not doing anything!!

When I give myself the luxury of the ultimate expression of self-care, I sit down with my Self and do nothing!

A GIFT!
ME TIME!

This is the place of New Beginnings!

From which all the juiciness flows!

Yes.

Flows! Effortlessly!

Ease and Flow!

This is you and God time!

This is me time.

Do nothing!

just sit.

Or walk.

Or run.

Or Dance.

Or shower.

Or….

Sitting is best!

Spend time with you!

Every encounter is A New Beginning!

Our lives are so busy we do not stop to take our next breath.

We breathe on the run!

It’s like I’ll get my next breath at the drive through.

I don’t have time to stop!

Eat on the run.

Breathe on the run.

We live our whole lives on the run.

What are we chasing?

Everything!

We’re chasing every single thing we can think of in the moment.

We deserve all the things and nothing less!

Keep grinding.

Until it is time to sit down with your Self!

Until it is time to Stop.

Time to do Nothing.

Give your Self the ultimate expression of Self-Care by sitting down with your Self.

Stop and take a breath!

Do Nothing!

Thoughts of appreciation sets the tone.

So does gratitude.

Sit in Thankfulness!

Sitting outside is the best place ever!

Sitting on your throne on top of your world.

Settle in and have a relationship with yourself.

When is the last time you gave your Self 20 minutes?

IT DOESNT’T MATTER?

NOW IS WHAT MATTERS!

Not yesterday.

Not tomorrow.

Not an hour ago.

Nor 10 minutes from now.

NOW!  ONLY NOW!

You will not give yourself 20 minutes of sitting down with your Self time if you do not schedule it into your life.

It doesn’t happen until you schedule 20 minutes of Me time in.

Or 10 minutes.

Or 5 minutes.

You will not give yourself the gift of Me time if you do not schedule it in.

Allow your Self time to Breathe.

The world will be alright without you for 20 minutes.

Let the “outside in” living stop.

Come home to You.

Check in with Your Self.

This place is delightful.

SITTING WITH YOUR SELF DOING NOTHING IS HOW YOU START A NEW BEGINNING!

The Difference Between Ease And Flow, And, Got To Make That Shit Happen!

There are so many things to do in a day.

For some people.

For all of us.

What may look like not getting the most out of a day, looking on from the outside, is probably not a right assessment of the person you are looking at.

We all have our own individual intentions, or desires, or wants, or needs, which drive the things we do at any particular time and particular day,

This is why we have to learn the art of minding our own damn business.

We have no idea what is going on in someone else’s mind.

This means we have no idea if the action they are taking, or those we think they should be taking, are the right aligned actions for that person to be taking at any given time.

We are merely onlookers minding somebody else’s business.

It is much better to mind your own business!

If you do, you will find your own self with as much as you can handle in one day, and a whole lot more that you cannot possibly get done in one day.

This is because we are Creators.

Every one of us!

Get Your Self Some Ease And Flow!

Creation is a non-stop series of things to do.

It doesn’t matter if you are in the flow and ease zone or the just make this shit happen by any means necessary mode.

There is always going to be stuff to do.

There is a difference in how we get the stuff done and how it makes us feel.

It is almost a difference as vast as the difference between night and day!

Flow and ease is the space I am actively cultivating.

I am an expert at the make this shit happen no matter what mode of creation.

This is the place I have lived most of my adult life.

This is the hard way to live.

It is tiring,

When you go to bed at night, it often is not a situation where you are pleased with what you have accomplished.

Most nights, you lie in bed unable o get to sleep because your mind can’t shut down the thoughts of what you did not get to do, as well as all the thoughts about what there is still to do.

By the time you get to sleep, it is almost time to do the whole thing all over again.

I’m noticing in the flow nd ease space that the important things get done.

There is actually a feeling of pride, not just satisfaction, at what you are able to get done in the same time frame.

What I said is that the things that are meant to be done, that move us merrily along our path always gets done.

And it feels so good.

There is no night time wrestling in our mind about what did not get done, or what should have gotten done, or even what do I still have to do.

Sleep is more peaceful.

You feel more rested.

I ain’t going to lie and say, I always jump up out of bed because I love sleeping in, but I do find myself waking up just before the alarm goes off.   So, in a sense I am more ready to jump up out of bed.

I’m sleeping better so I am that much more ready to start anew each day ready to get this Creation party started.

Although I am all about the flow and ease way of life, I know I am that person who requires a level of structure to keep me  on track.

So I set the alarm.  I schedule my stuff.  I  keep an idea list that feeds my schedule so I stay on track in a flow and ease kind of way.

I have the core things I do every day, no matter what, which revs my engines up, and allows me to be my best self on the daily.

I’ve identified these things for myself.

It is my tuning into who I am.  Getting the thoughts out of my head, and receiving the downloads through journaling.  Moving my body. Doing my hygiene self-care.  Then nourishing my body temple with food to keep every thing humming along.

This sets me, and my day, up for all the things to come.

I said there is a world of difference between the two lifestyles and perspectives.

Ease and Flow.

Making that shit happen.

I choose Ease and Flow every time.

Here’s hoping you find the few simple things which bring you to a more centered place, while at the same time allowing you to be your best you, and enjoying your life’s journey.

Heart Based Sharing

Peace, Love. Blessings
